Number of Positions: 3 artists

Residency Period: August 31 – November 30, 2026

Location: Hongmei International Art Village
(No. 17, Aly. 42, Ln. 1170, Wupu Sec., Xinguan Rd., Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan)

Target

Discipline: Independent artists and cultural practitioners of all disciplines and formats.

Age & Nationality: Applicants must be at least 20 years old and either citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or foreign artists holding a valid ARC (Alien Resident Certificate).

Language: Basic communication skills in Chinese or English are required.

Program Overview

Application Period: From now until April 30, 2026, 11:59 AM (GMT+8)

Selection Process:

  • First Round (Document Review):
    The Art Village Advisory Committee will review submitted materials based on artistic merit and the proposed residency plan. Shortlisted applicants will proceed to the second round.
  • Second Round (Interview):
    Scheduled for June 3, 2026, at Hongmei International Art Village (in-person).
    Applicants are required to prepare a presentation. The committee will evaluate the feasibility of the residency proposal and its potential connection to the local context.

    Shortlisted applicants will be notified via official email by May 29, 2026. Those not selected will not be notified separately.

Final Results Announcement:
The final list of selected residents will be announced in June on the foundation’s official website and social media platforms.

Residency Support

  1. Free accommodation and studio space (each resident will have a private room and workspace)
  2. Living stipend (including living expenses, production grant, and domestic transportation subsidy):
    NTD 800 per day. Total for 92 days (Aug 31 – Nov 30): NTD 73,600, disbursed in four installments
  3. Personal accident insurance during the residency
  4. Access to local resources and networking support based on individual needs
  5. Local orientation, cultural tours, and community engagement programs
  6. Internal exchange activities within the art village (held periodically)
  7. Shared bicycles for local transportation

Resident Commitments

  1. Conduct at least 3 public programs during the residency:
    (2 Open Studio events and 1 final presentation), and participate in promotional activities (e.g., media interviews, educational programs)
  2. Collaborate with staff on documentation (photo/video) and provide records of the creative process
  3. Grant permission for non-commercial use of related materials (images, texts, etc.) for educational, research, and promotional purposes
  4. Within one month after the residency, complete and donate one artwork, and grant the foundation reasonable usage rights for promotion and operations
