A material-based artist from the Philippines, Razel builds a bridge between fantasy and reality through his work. Moving across boundaries and connecting different worlds, he uses humor as a way to explore deeper aspects of human experience. Through his practice, he invites viewers into strange and often surreal imagined worlds, using playful narratives to reflect on the truths and absurdities of everyday life.

His practice is rooted in material exploration. Whether through the tactile warmth of natural fibers, the fluidity of ceramics, or the precision of digital fabrication, Razel continues to experiment with different methods of giving form to ideas. Each material and technique is chosen not only for its physical qualities, but also for how it contributes to the stories he wishes to tell.

At the heart of Razel’s work is a desire to open up conversations about the world we live in, the roles we take on, and the connections we share. By bringing together the fantastical and the familiar, he creates objects that resonate both emotionally and intellectually, encouraging viewers to find humor within the human condition and to question the realities they know.
