Artist-in-Residence
Born in Tokyo in 1974, he is a Japanese artist who received his doctorate from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. Specializing in woodcraft, his practice draws inspiration from nature and everyday life. He works with natural materials such as wood and stone, carefully revealing their textures and material qualities while thoughtfully integrating them with landscape and space.
His work expresses a deep respect for the earth and the environment, allowing viewers to sense the simplicity and wildness of nature. While exploring how art can be applied to contemporary living environments, he seeks to bring together contemporary art and traditional Asian aesthetics, opening up new ways of encountering the natural world.
