2024 Artist Residency Pilot Program II
Artist-in-Residence

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1981, Lin Guan-Ming received his MFA from the Graduate Institute of Art and Technology at Taipei National University of the Arts. He has long been engaged in video-based practice, approaching the moving image as a way of imagining and reflecting on “time.” In an age of excessive image production, his work seeks to reconsider the many overlooked possibilities of the image.

Since his participation in Co4 Taiwan Avant-Garde Documenta: Media Spasm in 2004, Lin has gained recognition through major group exhibitions in Taiwan, and his works have also been presented in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, Fukuoka, and the United States. In 2008, he held his solo exhibition Silent Assault at the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei and received the Taipei Arts Award in the same year. His works have been collected by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. In 2020, his 2019 solo exhibition Goodbye was shortlisted for the 18th Taishin Arts Award.
