Born in Kaohsiung in 1992, the artist responds to contemporary questions around ink painting through three bodies of work: silk, paper, and construction-site materials.
In the silk series, personal emotion is expressed through gestural writing and image-making, while fluorescent linear halos, suggestive of industrial products, are drawn into a relationship of both tension and coexistence with ink linework. The paper series continues the idea of the “membrane” from the silk works, extending it through mounting, rubbing, and fiber manipulation to create thin, translucent surfaces, experimenting with the narrative possibilities of the support itself.
In the construction-site series, traditional mounting formats are shifted onto found materials, creating a direct encounter between different supports. By introducing cement as a painting material, the refined literati tradition and its sense of cultural hierarchy are quietly transformed.
