Artist-in-Residence

Born in Miaoli in 1968, he received his BA in Fine Arts from Tunghai University and his MFA from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts at Tainan National College of the Arts. He currently lives and works in Taichung.

His early practice focused largely on Taiwan’s Hakka communities, creating large-scale mixed-media paintings that explored the historical and cultural development of Hakka identity in Taiwan. His well-known works include the Family Series. In recent years, his practice has shifted toward abstract painting, through which he expresses a strong sense of Eastern aesthetics within an abstract visual language.
